  • The first single from Carrie Underwood’s November 3rd album Play On has hit the Web. Check out the sassy “Cowboy Casanova” — which adds some poppy synths to Underwood’s twangy sound — above. As Associated Content notes, the new album features collaborations with pop hitmaker Max Martin and Idol’s Kara DioGuardi.

  • Charlotte Gainsbourg has teamed with Beck — who wrote the music and co-wrote the lyrics — for her January 2010 LP IRM. Says Beck of the collabo, “We got in the studio and I could see all the
    possibilities.”

  • 1978’s Live At The El Mocambo, the first in a series of Elvis Costello – The Costello Show discs, is due September 29th. More of his concerts will be released in the next year, including a gig from California’s Hollywood High.
  • The Blueprint 3 hasn’t even officially dropped, and Jay-Z is already plotting his next release, MTV News reports. “My next album, which I’m working on now… it’s not gonna be a Number One album. I wanna make the most experimental album I ever made.”
