Miley Cyrus Unveils New Video for Summer Jam “Party in the U.S.A.”

The best moment in Miley Cyrus’ new video for her epic late-summer jam “Party in the U.S.A.” has to be when a giant American flag unfurls to the lyric “and a Britney song was on.” Spears = patriotism. Props to Idolator for nailing the clip’s inadvertent inspiration: “Jessica Simpson’s ‘These Boots Are Made For Walkin’ ‘ and Madonna’s ‘American Pie’ — and that Chanel ad with Vanessa Paradis from 1992.”

Cyrus has said the dancey track — off her Walmart exclusive Time of Our Lives EP — “is an all-American song” that embraces her Southern roots. Ironically, it was produced by Swedish hitmaker Dr. Luke. The video premiered on ABC’s Music Lounge after being previewed on Dancing With the Stars just a few days after VH1 knighted Cyrus a Diva alongside Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Leona Lewis, Jordin Sparks and Adele.
