  • David Bowie is coming to your iPhone for $2.99. The new Ziggy Stardust eBook App features more than 600 photos by Mick Rock from 1972 and ‘73 which users can e-mail to each other and chat about in a Ziggy forum.

  • The Roots’ are premiering new song “How I Got Over” (which they performed on Jimmy Fallon’s show) on their http://www.okayplayer.com/news/Audio-The-Roots-How-I-Got-Over-.html" target="blank">Website now. The LP of the same name is due September 29th.

  • John Fogerty is bringing back the mythical group behind his 1973 debut on September 1st’s The Blue Ridge Rangers Rides Again. Bruce Springsteen and Don Henley guest on the LP, which features covers of songs by John Denver, John Prine and Delaney and Bonnie Bramlett.
  • The 12 nominees for this year’s Mercury Prize include Bat for Lashes, Lisa Hannigan, La Roux and Glasvegas, the NME reports. The winner will be announced September 8th; last year’s victor was Elbow.
  • On August 18th, Universal is releasing Jump Back: The Best Of The Rolling Stones 1971-1993, a reissue of the ‘93 greatest-hits collection that includes a 12-page booklet in which Jagger and Richards break down the 18 tracks.
