The first official in-game video from the upcoming The Beatles: Rock Band, for the White Album Side 3 opener “Birthday,” premiered to fans who pre-ordered the game, which will be released on September 9th. While the clip doesn’t show the game itself and how things like the three-part vocal harmonies will look on screen, you can tell by the video above the enormous detail that went into the first Fab Four video game. The “Birthday” video finds the Beatles in the famous Abbey Road Studios, donning their eponymous-era threads and playing the trademark instruments that will also be available in miniaturized versions with the special edition of the game.

Look back on Beatles album covers through the years

As Rock Daily previously reported, The Beatles: Rock Band will show the musical odyssey that the digital Fab Four embark upon as they travel from small clubs in Liverpool to Beatlemania in Shea Stadium, through the psychedelic era up to the Let It Be rooftop. So far, 25 songs from the game’s 45 on-disc track list have been announced, bridging the band’s entire repertoire. Additionally, Abbey Road will become available for download on September 9th, a day that will also feature the release of the entire remastered Beatles catalog.

Clips from the game first surfaced during Paul McCartney’s set at this year’s Coachella festival. After that, Macca, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison were all on hand at the E3 Expo to formally introduce gamers to The Beatles: Rock Band. As Rock Daily learned when we attended Paul McCartney’s recent three-concert run at New York’s Citi Field, The Beatles: Rock Band was stationed at a kiosk along the left field side of the stadium, with fans able to play the game while waiting for Sir Paul to take the stage.
