On Raphael Saadiq’s first-ever concert DVD Live From the Artists Den, the neo-soul singer takes fans on a musical journey through his Grammy-nominated catalog. The set was taped on December 3, 2008 at Boston’s storied Harvard Club, which Saadiq says, “has some history and this music has some history, so I think it’s a perfect match.” The performance first aired as part of public television’s weekly series Live From the Artists Den, and now the DVD of the show — with additional concert footage and bonus interviews — is out today at all major retailers, Public Television Rocks and the Artists Den.

Most of Live from the Artists Den’s 18 tracks showcase Saadiq’s latest album The Way I See It, including the LP’s opening track “Sure Hope You Mean It,” which you can watch up top. Also on the track list is “Big Easy,” a tribute to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. For more Saddiq from the Artists Den, click after the jump, as the former Tony! Toni!
