R. Kelly Promises He’ll Wind Up on Top in “Number One” Video

The last time we heard from R. Kelly, in early June, he was prepping for a new disc with a mixtape called The Demo Tape. Now the crooner is gearing up for the release of October 13th’s Untitled, which features 13 tracks including “#1 Fan,” “Number One” and “Be My Number 2″ (no joke), according to a track list posted on Rap-Up. The release will be followed by the Ladies Make Some Noise! tour, Rap-Up adds, which kicks off October 8th in Connecticut and wraps December 8th in St. Louis.

So what can fans expect from R.’s numerically leaning LP? He’s giving us a hint with a new video for “Number One,” which features Keri Hilson, but no little people, guns or closets (sadly). Watch it above, and grab some more info on the disc from Miss Info (via Idolator), who was one of the lucky few to hear the new record … in Kelly’s own home.

One major revelation: new song “Falling From the Sky” was originally penned for Chris Brown though it was rejected by his camp, and Kelly wrote “Happy People” for Stevie Wonder, who turned it down. And according to Miss Info, Kelly said he party-tested the new record hard:

“I did my homework on this album…for three months straight, I threw a party at my house every weekend. I can’t go to the clubs anymore because as soon as I walk in, I’m on YouTube. But I love to party… so I brought the party home… like 200 girls come over, and there’s some guys too, like four or five, but no pictures, so we can all be ourselves. Then I’d play the music and see how they would react… if they didn’t feel it, I’d go back downstairs and rework it…”
