  • Courtney Love, Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee, Rob Zombie and Led Zeppelin drummer Jason Bonham are among the many musicians who will join Velvet Revolver/Guns ‘N’ Roses guitarist Slash for his all-star concert in Las Vegas on October 2. The concert, billed Slash & Friends, celebrates the 20th anniversary of Las Vegas hotel, casino and white tiger playground the Mirage. Other guests include Velvet Revolver buddy Matt Sorum, Rick Neilsen of Cheap Trick, Rocco Deluca of the Burden and Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

  • A copyright lawsuit has been filed against Fergie and by Grounding Music, who allege that “Voodoo Doll” on Fergie’s 2006 album The Duchess rips-off “Each One Teach One,” a song recorded in 2000 by the band Groundation. According to TMZ, the lawsuit claims the two songs are “substantially and strikingly similar.”
  • Wall of Sound producer Phil Spector doesn’t seem to be enjoying prison all that much. In a hand-written letter to a pen pal that was posted by Gawker, Spector says that the “24/7 lockdown life is slowly driving me insane and killing me,” complains that his wife Rachelle has not been allowed to visit him behind bars and rails against the judge who presided over his murder trial. Spector adds that he’s appealing the guilty verdict against him.
