  • Just one day after Sonic Youth appeared on Gossip Girl, it was confirmed that Lady Gaga will cameo on New York’s hottest show. Penn Badgley, who plays Dan Humphrey on GG, told MTV Gaga “will perform a little bit, and it is involved in my story line.” She will not, however, be involved in the rumored threesome that will reportedly happen this season, Badgely added.

  • A memorial concert for producer Jerry Wexler, the man who coined the term “rhythm and blues” and helped power Atlantic Records, will take place on October 30th at New York’s DGA Theatre. Alain Toussaint, Bettye LaVette, Lenny Kaye, Spooner Oldham and William Bell will perform at the memorial, Billboard reports.
  • Rihanna’s official Website announced yesterday that “The Wait is Ova – Nov. 23 09,” possibly insinuating that the “Umbrella” singer will release her Good Girl Gone Bad follow-up that day. Outside of starring in Kanye’s “Paranoid” video and chorusing Jay-Z’s “Run This Town,” RiRi has yet to release any new music since her February 8th incident with Chris Brown.
  • Pavement’s reunion tour continues to take shape, albeit on the other side of the globe: Triple J revealed that the Wowee Zowee gang would tour Australia for six shows Down Under kicking off March 4th, 2010 in Sydney. Malkmus and Co. will also perform in Aucklund, New Zealand on March 1st.
