Flashback: The Wu-Tang Clan Bring da Ruckus in 1996

A significant piece of news has been lost in the sea of buzz about The Blueprint 3, the Beatles remasters and Ellen DeGeneres joining American Idol: Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II, the sequel to the Wu member’s 1995 hip-hop classic, has sat atop the iTunes Top Albums chart for the better part of the week (Jay-Z finally usurped it, but it was an impressive run). To celebrate the release of the incredible OB4CL2, Flashback trips back to 1996 as the Wu-Tang Clan (sans Method Man) performed a set of tracks culled from 1995 Wu solo albums like Ol’ Dirty Bastards’ Return to the 36 Chambers (”The Stomp”), GZA’s Liquid Swords (the title track) and Rae’s Cuban Linx (”Incarcerated Scarfaces”).

We’re not entirely sure where this was filmed — looks like it’s inside a missile silo or something — but one thing is for certain: We would’ve given anything to be there. For the Bonus Flashback, there’s more Wu from the same ‘96 show below:
