Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, Phish’s Trey Anastasio, the E Street Band’s Steven Van Zandt and Wyclef Jean will help welcome the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2010 at the March 15th induction ceremony at New York’s Waldorf-Astoria. The Bee Gees’ Barry and Robin Gibb, Jackson Browne and Carole King will also present at this year’s big event.

Armstrong will pay tribute to the Stooges, one of the most iconic punk bands of all time, while Anastasio will celebrate the music of Genesis by welcoming the prog rockers into the Rock Hall. Wyclef Jean, who performed “Rivers of Babylon” from The Harder They Come on the Hope for Haiti Now special, will induct reggae great Jimmy Cliff, and Van Zandt will honor the Hollies. The Bee Gees’ Gibb brothers will reflect on fellow ’70s pop gods Abba.

Record executive and Dreamworks chief David Geffen, whose Asylum Records was founded in 1971 for the purpose of releasing Jackson Browne’s debut album, will fittingly be honored by Browne. And Carole King will salute this year’s class of songwriters: Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil, Ellie Greenwich & Jeff Barry, Jesse Stone, Mort Shuman, and Otis Blackwell.

So will we see the superpower quarter of Anastasio, Armstrong, Van Zandt and James Williamson riffing behind Iggy Pop on an all-star “Search and Destroy”? Will the Bee Gees, Abba and Genesis come together for “Invisible Touch”? Tune in March 15th to find out. As Rolling Stone previously reported, Peter Gabriel will not take part in this year’s induction ceremony.
