Autopsy on Avenged Sevenfold’s Sullivan Inconclusive; Tributes Pour In For “The Rev”

An autopsy on Avenged Sevenfold drummer Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan has come back inconclusive and the coroner’s office in the investigation has ordered toxicology and other laboratory tests to determine why the 28-year-old drummer died, My Fox L.A. reports. As Rolling Stone reported yesterday, Sullivan was found unresponsive in the Huntington Beach, California home he shared with his wife Leana MacFadden Monday night, December 28th. A police officer on the scene said that it appeared Sullivan died of natural causes.

Larry Jacobson, Avenged Sevenfold’s manager, told My Fox L.A. that he saw Sullivan a few days earlier at a friend’s wedding and it appeared that the drummer was in good health, adding that he had just undergone Lasik eye surgery. “He was somebody who just had a warmth and an easy smile and a laugh, and he was as smart as they come,” Jacobson said. In a statement, Avenged Sevenfold said, “Jimmy was not only one of the world’s best drummers, but more importantly he was our best friend and brother.”

Tributes to Sullivan continue to pour in from all corners of the rock world. Buckcherry, which spent the past two years on a co-headlining tour with Avenged Sevenfold, wrote via Twitter, “The Rev… You will be missed. Rest in peace, our brother from the road. The entire A7X family is in our thoughts.” Added the Used, “James Owen Sullivan you will be missed. Our thoughts go out to your family and friends. You are a great drummer, musician and you were taken from us way too soon. There’s not much more we can say other then we love you.”
