To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Talking Heads’ legendary rockumentary Stop Making Sense, Palm Pictures will re-release the Jonathan Demme-directed film in the stunning Blu-ray format, piling on extras like frontman David Byrne interviewing himself and a couple performances that were left on the cutting room floor. Stop Making Sense, which Peter Travers ranked as the second-greatest rock doc of all time, also spawned an incredible in-concert soundtrack that made its way onto Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list.

The film captures the Heads’ performances in the tour following the release of the album Speaking In Tongues. Although the band called it quits in 1991, all four members managed to put the bad blood to rest to sit down for a press conference together back in 1999, an event that will also feature on the Stop Making Sense Blu-ray. Rock Daily got our hands on a excerpt of that video, in which Byrne explains the genesis of his iconic “big suit” as well as the film’s eye-catchingly minimal stage décor. Stop Making Sense hits Blu-ray October 13th.
