  • Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kiss, the Stooges, LL Cool J, Genesis and ABBA were nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. LL told RS the nod was one of the happiest moments of his career, and we looked at photos of all the nominees.

  • Michael Jackson documentary This Is It revealed advance screenings and that a new song called “This Is It” will be released on October 12th.
  • Rolling Stone was the place to hear new music: Tokio Hotel’s “World Behind My Wall,” a pair of songs ex-New Order rocker Bernard Sumner’s Bad Lieutenant and the ghoulish “In the Room Where You Sleep” from Ryan Gosling’s Dead Man’s Bones.
  • We ventured to the Toronto Film Fest for a sneak peek at the White Stripes’ tour doc, plus chatted with Iggy Pop and Henry Rollins about their vampire flick Suck, discussed the Neil Young Trunk Show and got the inside scoop on festival winner Precious, starring Mariah Carey and Lenny Kravitz.
