Last week, still shocked by Paula Abdul’s departure from American Idol, we asked our readers to tell us their favorite Goodbye Songs. Surprisingly, this Rock List winner doubles as both a greeting and farewell song, as the Beatles’ “Hello Goodbye” earned the most votes. Other artists whose exit music made the final list include Jeff Buckley and Green Day — and we even got Oingo Boingo’s song from the closing credits of Fast Times at Ridgemont High on here:

1. The Beatles – “Hello Goodbye”
2. Elton John – “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”
3. Green Day – “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)”

4. Madonna – “The Power of Goodbye”
5. Billy Joel – “Say Goodbye to Hollywood”
6. Jeff Buckley – “Last Goodbye”
7. Scandal – “Goodbye to You”
8. Steam – “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye”
9. Bon Jovi – “Never Say Goodbye”
10. Cheap Trick – “Say Goodbye”
11. Oingo Boingo – “Goodbye, Goodbye
12. Ozzy Osbourne – “Goodbye To Romance”
13. Pink Floyd – “Goodbye Cruel World”
14. Supertramp – “Goodbye Stranger”
15. The Doors – “The End”
