Pearl Jam kicked off their international tour this Saturday, August 8th, with a bang, officially debuting a pair of Backspacer tracks — “Got Some” and “The Fixer” (watch above) — at Calgary’s V Fest. Today the band announced a handful of new dates on the U.S. portion of their trek, which kicks off September 21st in their native Seattle. The newly announced gigs include two more concerts at Philadelphia’s Spectrum — including a Halloween performance — that brings the grand total to four shows in the City of Brotherly Love.

As Rock Daily previously reported, “Got Some” debuted in June on the premiere episode of The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien, while a private audience at the filming of a Target commercial witnessed the first performance of “The Fixer.” Calgary’s V Festival marked the first time the band played the Backspacer songs live to fans in an official concert setting. Pearl Jam’s new Brendan O’Brien-produced album is due out September 20th.

While the band kept the majority of their new Backspacer material under wraps, Pearl Jam’s Calgary concert did a feature a few surprises, including the first-ever performances of the vocal version of “Brother” that appeared on the Ten reissue as well as a cover of the Who’s Quadrophenia classic “The Real Me” in the encore. Eddie Vedder and the gang also resurrected Lost Dogs cuts like “Sad” and “All Night.” According to the Ten Club, Vedder joked at the Calgary festival, “Virgin Fest and not a Jonas Brother in sight.”
