  • A burst appendix has reportedly forced Slipknot off the road, according to Blabbermouth. The band canceled its August and September tour dates citing “personal issues,” which sources say referred to drummer Joey Jordison’s surgery.

  • Weezer radio — the band’s own Artist Personal Experience (APE) station — launches today. The station can be found on Clear Channel’s “iheartradio” network and will feature the band’s own playlists, interviews and more.
  • Chris Brown will make his first large-scale post-sentencing media appearance on Larry King Live on September 2nd. His lawyer, Mark Geragos, and mother join him on the show.
  • MGMT, Silversun Pickups, Against Me!, the Walkmen and the Clipse are among the artists playing free shows on the Soul Collective tour celebrating Kia’s new Soul model. Check the tour’s site for remaining tour dates, which run through November in 10 cities.
