  • Sources tell the Rap-Up that Rihanna will perform at the American Music Awards on November 22nd, the day before her new album, Rated R, is released. Rihanna’s mentor Jay-Z is already booked to take the stage, along with Taylor Swift and Alicia Keys.

  • Ashlee Simpson-Wentz’s gig as an actress on the remake of Melrose Place is over already. The show’s executive producers tell EW that Simpson’s murder-mystery storyline was only supposed to stretch 12 episodes.
  • Police are accelerating their search for a Metallica fan who vanished during the band’s Virginia concert Saturday, and the missing girl’s parents are offering a $100,000 reward for information that will help find her, Blabbermouth reports. More info at Find Morgan.
  • The Spider-Man musical featuring music by U2’s Bono and the Edge has been delayed again — likely until spring 2010 — by production and financial issues, the New York Times‘ Artsbeat reports.
