  • Kid Rock will headline a $100-a-ticket benefit supporting the Institute for Music and Neurologic Function (IMNF) at New York’s Terminal 5 on September 2nd. The Bronx-based IMNF develops musical therapy for neurological treatments, and has featured Beastie Boys and the B-52’s at previous fundraisers.

  • Jarvis Cocker has written a trio of songs that will be performed by Russell Brand in the Forgetting Sarah Marshall sequel Get Him to the Greek, Billboard reports.
  • Aerosmith’s Joe Perry will release his fifth solo record, Joe Perry … Have Guitar Will Travel, in November, and hopes to tour next year, Reuters reports. Perry took the album title from a fan suggestion on Twitter.
  • Nowhere Boy, a film about John Lennon’s early years, will close out the Times BFI London Film Festival in October, according to the Hollywood Reporter. As Rock Daily reported, the film traces the Beatle’s Liverpool childhood with his mother and aunt.
