  • Alicia Keys will unveil a full stream of her new LP The Element of Freedom on her Facebook page thanks to a partnership between her label, RCA, and social media firm Involver.

  • Fela, a biopic about African music great Fela Kuti, has found its director in Steve McQueen, who helmed Hunger, Variety reports. The film is not related to the recent Broadway musical Fela!.
  • An unauthorized film about Blink-182 called Blink is also in the works. MTV reports that California director Brandon Flores is working a movie on a tiny $55,000 budget.
  • This Friday, Larger Than Life … in 3D, a concert film featuring Dave Matthews Band, Ben Harper and the Relentless7 and Gogol Bordello will hit 500 theaters for a limited one-week run. The movie includes 360º footage from ACL, the Mile High Festival and APW.
  • R.E.M. have unveiled their first iPhone app, which lets fans keep up with the band’s news, watch videos, peruse photos and hear 30-seconds clips of songs from their catalog.
