Brandi Carlile Brings “Give Up the Ghost” to the Rolling Stone Studios

Rolling Stone recently welcomed onetime Artist to Watch Brandi Carlile to our studios to perform stripped-down acoustic versions of two tracks from her most recent disc Give Up the Ghost. Carlile, who logged time as a backup singer for an Elvis Presley impersonator at age 16, racked up a host of big-name collaborators on Ghost: Heartbreakers keyboardist Benmont Tench, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, Indigo Girls’ Amy Ray, and a little British singer-songwriter named Elton John, who joins her on “Caroline.” Click above to watch “Dreams,” and check out “That Year” after the jump.
