As we continue to look back at the Best Albums and Songs of the 2000s, today we journey back to 2005, a year that featured the best Rolling Stones album in two decades, Kanye West’s second LP and the rookie discs from M.I.A. and LCD Soundsystem. December 29th, 2009
Hip-hop has seen its share of notable feuds this decade: Who can forget how Jay-Z and Nas famously beefed in the shadow of “Ether,” or when 50 Cent’s Curtis faced off against Kanye West’s Graduation in 2007. However, as Mediaite points out (via Vulture), there’s one enemy that it appears the entire rap community shared in the 2000s: Bill O’Reilly. The Fox News host has got into verbal confrontations with everyone from Nas to Snoop ...

Metric’s Self-Released “Fantasies” Earns MySpace “Triumph” Award

Photo: Walter/Getty Images Four albums into their career, Canadian indie rockers Metric have been named MySpace Music’s Triumph of the Year thanks to the success of their 2009 album Fantasies, which took only four weeks to beat previous album’s Live It Out sales over four years. The feat was more remarkable because Metric accomplished it without the aid of any record label, releasing Fantasies on their own Metric Music International. The album spawned the radio hit ...
