Groundbreaking Choreographer Merce Cunningham Dead at 90

Influential and innovative choreographer Merce Cunningham died in his sleep last night, Bloomberg reports. He was 90. In a career that spans seven decades, Cunningham frequently collaborated with avant-garde composer John Cage, who was Cunningham’s life partner until Cage’s death in 1992. “American Idol” Hopeful Alexis Cohen Killed In Car Accident

Former American Idol hopeful Alexis Cohen, dubbed “Glitter Girl” after providing AI fans with two memorable auditions, died this weekend following a hit-and-run accident in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, the BBC reports. Cohen, a native of Allentown, Pennsylvania, was 25. iTunes, Record Labels Aim to Jump Start Album Sales

Apple and the four major record labels are reportedly in talks to figure out ways to entice more consumers to purchase full-length albums, the Financial Times reports. Codenamed “Cocktail,” their plan calls for the introduction of an interactive liner-notes booklet to accompany full-album purchases.
